bees do it...

snapped this bit of insect-porn right outside my apartment. do they have NO SHAME??!

so i took the week off running, and by the end of the week i was actually craving a run. today i went running in shorts and short sleeves... it smelled absolutely beautiful outside. i'm looking forward to training for bloomsday - and would like to improve my time. this week, yoga has to be a priority - my hips are feeling stiff. it it unbelievable how much of a difference it makes to my running to mix in yoga on a regular basis.

but the purpose of this post is really to give HUGE GIANT PROPS AND CLOUDS OF SPARKLY CONFETTI to my cousin boofy for his outstanding performance in The Big Climb. his goal was to finish in 12 minutes - which would have been a new personal best. but he blew past that and finished in 11:33 - smashing his old best time by nearly a minute!! congratulations, boof - well done!!

thank you and goodnight!!

Wow, gosh, thanks! It was a great climb. Focusing on the little things really helped. Starting out slow and keeping a steady pace was crucial, as was bypassing the water stations and just keeping going. In a short race like, that, stopping even for a few seconds costs you, both in the actual stopped time, and when you try to get back into your pace.

Now my only fear is I'll never figure out a way to beat 11:33.

Did you notice, in the results, there is a guy named "Henry Wigglesworth" who did the race 3X yesterday? Got 8:02 and 9:24 twice. I run the thing once and I'm pretty well done for the day.

your training and strategy paid off and then some! and i have little doubt you will find a way to beat 11:33, if that becomes your goal.

i did not see henry wigglesworth! i want to meet henry wigglesworth! do you think that is indeed his name? i now want to write a book called the adventures of henry wiggleworth!

I believe this must be Mr. Wigglesworth himself ...

Google also found his name associated with numerous running and stairclimbing websites.
